Installation Instructions:

1. Installation into the application:

• NPT threads: apply a suitable thread sealant and tighten into the application 1/2 turn beyond hand tight.
• Straight threads:
  1. Insert switch into the application.
  2. Install the supplied mounting hardware.
  3. Tighten nut 1/2 turn beyond hand tight.
• Press fit mounting: install the supplied mounting hardware, then press into correct size hole in the application.

2. The Optical Liquid Level Switches MUST be mounted horizontally.

3. Wiring of the Optical Liquid Level Switches to be done per local codes and by a qualified technician. See wiring diagrams on the following pages.

General Installation Information:

1. Cleaning fluids should be selected based on the type of contaminant to be removed. Alcohol based solvents are recommended.

2. DO NOT use chlorinated solvents for cleaning, as they are likely to attack the sensor dome material.

3. On units that have the optional LED wire (black), do not connect it directly to the supply voltage.

Installation Warnings:

1. DO NOT exceed the Maximum ratings listed for each series.

2. Although some of the Optical Liquid Level Switches have reverse polarity protection, it is not recommended to wire them in this manner.

3. The Optical Liquid Level Switches are NOT to be used as safety or emergency stop devices.
